No,in the end it wasn't much of a spectacle; the nature and timing of the early goals made it hard to watch but how many of us really thought Wroxham would be in the final during those early rounds? It was a remarkable achievment and there's is no shame in losing to a better team. Well done to everyone involved at the club, youdid Norfolk proud! There has been a lot of rubbish spouted on this thread by both sides of the fence and I would much rather converse with proper fans like Mainsail and Cromer who seem to appreciate what Sunday was all about. I make apologies for any forum member from the North East who has made derogatory remarks about either of the competing finalists. Yes at the end of the day The Bay's experience at this level showed but at half time it was only 2-1 to our advantage and things could have changed dramatically had you got an early equaliser in the second period , however Lee Kerr scored with an absolute cracker in the first minute of the second half and from that moment on your heads seemed to drop. Towards the end your boss obviously had to try and attack The Bay but this only left greater openings for our strikeforce. As I said before the game ; the main thing personal to everybody attending was to enjoy the day and the experience of going to Wembley ; many supporters of Premier League teams are envious of our ability to go to the home of football. Best of luck in the future to Wroxham FC ; who kows our paths may cross again.

www.newsguardian.co.uk/whitleybayfc/Bay-bring-Vase-back-.6286874.jpA Bay view of victory from Hayley. Great coverage from a young local journalist who has embraced the Bay. bluephysio as you know empty vessels make the most noise & their inane utterances are best ignored. The differance between the sides on Sunday was the Bay have big match experiance at Vase level 3 wins a semi defeat, wacked Truro 3-0 away. Defeated Blue Square North sides Blyth Spartans (Away) & Hyde Utd (Home) in the FA cup. Manager played for the Bay when we defeated Preston NE in the FA Cup. Last three results against NUFC Reserves in the Northumberland Senior Cup 3-1 win 1-2 defeat 2-1 win. The Bay do not freeze they rise to the occassion. Wroxham had two match winners in Spriggs & Cook the Bay had seven. Our bench was stronger & overall fitness significantley superior. Ask Barwell. They thought they were at Wembley on 72 mins. Chan makes a change 3-3. They are used to playing in front of 150 & they have got to come up to Hillheads & play in front of 2500+ only one winner. The Bay did not go to London to wave at their family & friends they went to Wembley to pick up the cup. Semi Pro yes however all the players & managemet are total proffessionals. Best of luck for next season & hopefully one day we will meet again in the FA trophy (sic).

Thanks GK, Even without the first goal it was clear even before we equalised that Bay were going to be giving us a tough afternoon. However the reality was at half time that there was only 1 goal in it and we had gifted Bay both their strikes. It was the 3rd goal that did for us and a difficult assigment became an impossible one. Bay looked much more at ease throughout but nothing will detract from the enormous achievement by the Wroxham boys. To add further context;look at the geographics: Wroxham population less than 2,000 and a truly rural community from which to draw upon. Whereas Bay have the sizeable populations of Tyneside, Wearside & Teeside from which to trawl for their talent. The North East is a hotbed of football, Norfolk aint. Good luck to Bay, worthy winners but massive credit to Dave Batch and his team. With a pile of £££ in the coffers from our exploits and the enjoyment given on the journey, the positives outweigh the negatives. All the best for next season, cu @ Wembley next May!

Thanks once again Mainsail for your sensible comments; you and I are obviously on the same wavelength. I was in my local Wetherspoons pub tonight and they had Woodfordes as a guest beer, it was so nice that I had one for you as well, cheers me old hearty. Hope to speak with you again sometime.
