Despite the best efforts of the officials who were diabolical, think its fair to say the Premier League wont be knocking on thier door.
I thought that Nathan Pauling was outstanding and has every right to be number 1 keeper.

give credit where credit is due i say, and Nath had a solid game , and at times kept us in the match.
but that goes for all the players in this game, after going down 2- 0 ( which was no more than we deserved), we came out second half and had grown some bollocks, for the task in hand .
and even when we went down to 9 men, we just got stuck in and for our hard work, got a deserved replay.
as for the officials, now i never get involved with the men in black, i would even say that most of the time i work side by side with them. i treat a lot of their members and even go to branch meetings to give presentations on how to keep injury free.
but i will break my code over the trio yesterday, i have in all my years in football never witnessed appalling decision making in all my years. Not just for us , but for Ely as well, and if the gentlemen in the middle was being assessed , than if the bloke was doing his job correct would of locked him and the ref in a darkened room somewhere , and pointed out to him the error of his ways .
it is not normal at our level of football to have this problem, by and large the level of refereeing is normally good, just hope these people take the comments on board and improve the way they perform on a Saturday.
on the injury front , challen done a good half hour yesterday, josh is well and truly back,Gilmore will be couple more weeks, Easty will be another 3-4 weeks with shin splints.
good to talk to Kenny Cooke this week , and he seems to be doing ok, miss him on match days , but the bloke is a legend m and will never be forgot .

Good to see you on here Physio. Just for the record based on the information I received from Sue Murray/Pat Penn and a few others, we gave the ref a score of 59 which required me to produce a report for the FA. I think it would unfair to go into detail on here but I do know he was being assessed and I think the assessor will have picked up on the concerns you raise. However this ref is one of the young generation the FA are keen to "fast track"; at 21 younger than many of our players and management in fact; so he has a lot to learn. We all make mistakes so let's hope he does learn from this especially as we have him again on Tues! At one stage you said you would like to do some articles on here about injury and recovery. Now you are "semi-retired" and developing your Yachtsmen Big Mac franchise perhaps you would like to explain a few of the more common injuries. I had to look up shin splints and found this www.thestretchinghandbook.com/archives/shin-splints.phpWhy won't Andy be back in 72 hrs? Incidently, I saw him wearing flip/flops yesterday - is that the right footwear? Pleased you spoke with Kenny; I also saw him during the week and he seems to be making progress despite being sore and tired. I'm sure I speak for everyone at the club in wishing him well and hopefully a full recovery.

THANKS CHRIS SEE BELOW :
SHIN SPLINTS - how and why.
this affects the muscle and tendons along the sides of both shin bone , and fibula, it is caused by pounding on a hard surface ( road running, hard pitches ) and is most common at this time of year .
it is classed as a over use injury , where both muscle and tendon because of constant pounding be come inflammed and weak, so the n more you try to play on it , the more they become inflammed reaching the entire length of tendons and muscles after a period of weeks. It will start with a small pain, generally after the match, but will disappear quickly, so the player thinks he can carry on with sport, if he stopped the very first time he felt the slightest pain, he would properly get away with the 72 hr treatment, but in my experience, the player will carry on for a week or so, allowing inflammation to travel the length of the muscle and tendon, until such a time that he feels it all the time, this could take several weeks, and in the medical world , the same amount of time is needed for rehab
to be fair it is at this stage they will look for help, and like wise if they come back to early , it will just inflame again, rehab time, and back to sport have to be done at a slow pace, and timing spot on
hope this has explained a bit about shin splints, which have in the past finished some players career
