Come on people there must be someone who has something to get off their chests-why dont you post it on here?. With the sad demise of the the Shannock forum there must be loads of you who want to have their say on anything connected with football in general -be it your local team , The canaries or even the state of the tea and pies !!! Dont be shy, you can even have your opinion on Wroxham Fc im sure no one will condemn you for it (might do tho if its about Leeds United!!). Be great to get this forum moving and although it might never be as sucessful as The Shannock one at least it will be somewhere you can have your views listened to. So i say once again be brave and post on here- you never know you might get so involved in the our club that you actually want to venture to Trafford Park and try one of Chris Green's legendery Hot Dogs!! Look forward to hearing from you all soon

Thanks Abbo, I try to keep the main site as up-to-date as possible which takes up a lot of time together with other secretarial duties! It would be nice if there was a bit more interest shown because we know there are many people who "hit" the site. By all means use it but no personal attacks or "bringing the game into disrepute" comments as they will be removed. We would love it if a few more people wanted to get involved at WFC, there is always plenty to do and we particularly want a Commercial Manager - anyone interested?

Sadly it was the small minority and abusive posts which ended a generally successful forum.
As you know we had over 800 real members who contributed to a very viewed forum from a wide spectrum of people from players, managers, fans, league officials from several leagues, referees and just people interested in local football.
The fact that several other clubs have tried to fill that hole left by the shannock talk forum I hope speaks volumes for its credibility.
I spent many an hour trawling the posts and censored anything that looked vaguely suspect but that took time. Unfortunately an element from a certain club continued with their rumours which the club decided wasn't worth the platform to continue with.
I agree many more people should be using forums for local footballing news but as I have said can't see any other forum achieving what the Sheringham forum did.

Thanks for contributing Shannock Bill - Hopefully you will be the first of many to post on here now. Lets hope that this forum takes off and we ignore the mindless few who try and spoil it for the majority. As you said there are many people who can contribute some interesting ideas so as Delia so delicately put it once -" Where are you, Lets be having you" !!!!!!!!!

I have tried commenting on the 1st team forum but don't seem to get much response, so lets try general. Football in general at this level is there to much money being paid? so you don't get local lads playing thus meaning the fall in gates?

Simple answer is YES ! There is certainly too much money in football full stop. I can certainly see that it is leading to an inferior product as it does with most money-driven things. As for pricing out local talent ,well sadly this happens at all levels as we see from the premiership with foreign imports everywhere but i do think due to the financial climate even clubs such as Arsenal -well known for having nearly all foreign players, are developing british players such as Jack Wilshire, to save on transfer costs. I think this way of financial thinking will filter down to lower league football but it will take time but im 100% sure it will happen as gate revenue and sponsorship dry up and local talent is more readily sourced. Dont know if we will ever return to pure "local" sides as you well know football is a results-based business and clubs expect instant and continued success so sometimes managers have to bring in quality players from different areas just to keep results going.

There is one big question that really needs answering at Wroxham.
Is Chris Greeen really Billy Danity without the disguise ? ;D
