the side travelled Dereham having lost there a few weeks ago in the FA cup, th messgae was sounded loud by manager Batch in his pre match talk. It was the home side who started off the more brightly, with the wind in their favour, andthe closet they come in the opening minutes was to hit the bottom of the post. Slowly Wroxham built up steam, with Gilmore and Spriggs getting behind the Dereham defence, to cross balls in, the home keeper mad an outstanding save from Paynter right on the line, then King hit the bar , which was still shaking some five minutes later .Gilmore had a effort stopped on the line, it was at this time that the visitors were really bossing the game.it's a funny ole game is football, for it changed with in five minutes of the break, first Danny white converted at the far post after a quality cross was put in, then right on half time Spriggs played the ball out to Paynter from his just out side his own box, he then put the ball in to King who ran on and slipped the ball under the advancing keeper, a quality three man move , which split the home defence . After the break the combination of Paynter and Spriggs struck again, Paynter picked the ball up, Spriggs made one of those runs right across the the back four , the ball was put through to him, and he finshed clincnally . Dereham had to make changes, which saw them come at us , and they were rewarded with a very well taken goal by ex-Wroxham player Ben Furlong. There were times when we were under the hammer but a resolute defence of Howie, Pauling, Challen, Macca, and Carus were equal to anything they could throw at them, Howes replaced Paynter , and young 4 goal hero Bulman replaced Gilmore .final score Dereham 1 Wroxham 3.
