This game was ruined right at the start by an over officious and useless referee. He started of by warning the wroxham bench that "two standing and the rest sitting on the bench" and carried on being just as petty throughout the game. The sending of of Gavin Pauling was ridiculous and should have been just a foul or at most a red card, and effectively killed the game. He then sent off a halstead player in the first half of extra time, which once again was a stupid decision. Add this to the fact that he could not keep up with play ( I could move faster than him and I walk with a stick) and he was about the worst ref I have seen for a long time, and this season thats saying something. Wroxham seemed to struggle with only ten men and some of our players were getting very frustrated even responding to shouts from the crowd with bad tempered abuse. Because of the missing man it seemed we either had no width or when someone got on the wing there was no one to cross to. Must give credit to our players who kept trying especially Danny White, Gary Gillman, Steve Spriggs and Gavin Lemmon who seemed to cover so much ground. Also Scott Howie who pulled off two exceptional saves in the second half, one of which seemed impossible. The defense battled all night as Halstead kept attacking. Credit also to Halstead who came to try and win the game and very nearly did. Don't know if I can make the replay but will certainly try, could be a great game. One last opinion, it seemed that the manager did not have a clue what to do when we went down to ten men. He left it very late with his subs and did not seem able to lift the team. Perhaps the cracks are beginning to show!

Big dave was certainly right about the ref, this gives a big argument to the way in which a referee is assessed. It has been said for many a year, that these assesses should just blend in to the crowd, and give their assessment afterwards, this way they will see a true reflection of the man in the middle. It would seem that prior information tithe ref and linesman that they will be assessed, turns the officials to a blob of jelly, so frightened of not applying every law of the game, instead of using his own discretion, this in turn irritates the crowd causing un rest and frustration. This was the case last night, the ref told his linos to be on their best behavior as they were being assessed, so the man in the middle was more interested in how many was standing in the dug out, then keeping up with play, and some of the decisions and the way he conducted himself , i bet would not of happened if he Had his mind on the game. Gavin's sending off was in fact questionable, as was their sending off, on both accounts he was not up with play although i have seen them giving.
for the good of the game please note county FA, can you please change your system of assessing the games .

Totally agree with you JC i have been banging on for ages about the need for assessors to be anonimous in the crowd as it is only human nature that refs will go over board on the rule book if they feel under scrutiny for 90 mins. This said it should be no excuse for the over shoddy performances as we have all noticed by the officials at Trafford Park recently at all levels.

Not being funny, but can I see why your bench got ticking off for too many standing. Your bench have been taking the mick with this rule all season. Other clubs try there best to sort them selves out in the tech area, but when I've seen your tem play, there always seem to be 4-5 standing!

too many chiefs and not enough indians , but they do look abit like the ant hill mob of wacky races . refs are always in the firering line at any level , and we all see bad practise week in week out but mistakes will be made and i agree they are under pressue when being assesed . certainly the ref in eires game against france could have done with an assesment , and as for henry how sad it was to see such a fine player cheat, the game is at its highest financially but in its decendencey when it comes to fair play and respect , a thing all football bodies have driven on for a number of years , the game is not dying its screeming out for a firm grip at all levels , swear at a ref in rugby and its goodnight goodbless , and whilst judging henry i guess its easy to say we would have never done the same , what would lemmo or howesy done if it had been in the fa vase final if the same happened to them, its easy to judge i no .

Ive been banging on about this for ages we cringe everytime at kirkley when the assesor turns up its straight into the refs dressing room and introduce himself as was the case a couple of weeks age when a highly respected ref from your area was jittered by the appearance and had a shocker I say they should be oblivious and fade into the crowd with their pen and book then produce the facts at the end

Someone mensioned that maybe the cracks are starting to show! Let them keep appearing if it brings results like this 3-1 win at Halstead!!! Fools. Why write on here at all if all you want to do is criticize the people that put themselfs well and truly out to push our club forward!

A much better performance from wroxham looked a lot more like a team at last! 1st half was a pleasure 2 watch and spriggs and gilmore looked dangeorus everytime they got the ball in wide areas. Defence had a couple of dodgy moments but on the whole were solid, good to self back in the team dont know why he was dropped in the 1st place! Lemmon ran the midfield and with easto puttin in more tackles than simpson has all season it seem to spur the lads on. At long last playin two upfront made a big difference and i hope it continues that way. Credit to the management as they definately got their tatics correct, also what a great signing scott howie is! Lets hope it continues
