Just back from Bloomfields, hoarse and ecstatic! Wanted to say congratulations and thanks to the players, management and backroom staff for a monumental effort today. When the ref. failed to give the nailed-on penalty and red card he should have, I was beginning to think that history was about to repeat itself (I still remember the long drive home after the "robbery" at Durham City). As a 25-year supporter of Wroxham, I wondered then if we would ever reach the same stage again in my lifetime! This was a performance of true grit and character and invites comparisons with some great Vase games of the past, like Arnold Town and Prescott Cables. Well done again lads and bring on a two-leg semi- final -against anyone!

Could not agree more. Fantastic effort by all concerned and yes, fingers crossed, this could be Wroxhams year.

What a great day yesterday, we turned up at Bloomfield's, to a unbeaten team at home, and a pitch that was a tad more than wet. But looking back at the past games, ie Royston, and Debenham, we had the quality to adapt to-the conditions, in fact , our best football to date had been in these two previous games. It was great to see so many Wroxham supporters in attendance, we kicked off with both sides looking equal in the opening minutes. it was the home side who had the best of the opening chances, with ex wroxham player Hilton, causing a few problems in the box, but our big Scotsman in goal was equal to anything the home side could muster. Although the pitch was very slippery, and was cutting up, both sides tried to carve out opportunity's . the break through came on 38 minutes, when My man of the match cook , was upended in the box , and the ref had no hesitation in pointing to the spot, Howes stepped up and blasted a unstoppable quality pen past gay. Two more excellent saves by Howie, sent us in to the break 1-0 to the good. The second half saw the home side change slightly, and they shoved another one up front, this did cause problems, but after a re-shuffle ourselves, our back 5 , resumed normal service of being in charge. The home side got back on level terms , when simmo , tripped up Hilton in the box, Hilton picked himself up, so it was now ex-professional footballer v ex- professional keeper with a reputation of saving a vital pen, but on this occasion the footballer dispatched very well. It was now end to end, both keepers living up to their reputations, the winning goal came 15 minutes from the end, great individual work by that man cook saw him cross the ball to spriggs who banged it in near the far post, to the elation of all concerned.the last minutes including 7 Min's extra time was played out in typical football criteria , there were bloody injuries, bookings and some dodgy looking tackles , but we held on , to record a famous win on the day, and re- write the record books for the club.
i am so pleased for everyone at the club, especially the likes of Kenny Cooke, the chairman, Pat Penn, Jimmy, and everyone who gives up their time for the cause, they have kept faith with the club, so thats hope we can progress to make their dreams, and of cause Gav Pauling who has Long lived with the memory of that quarter final against Durham , when he supposedly gave the pen away to send wroxham out, that my friend has finally been put to bed .
oh yes just one more point, Rob white banged his head on the dugout at Royston, and we won, he did it again yesterday , and we won, so get in practice mate for the semi's where ever we may go .
